Oahu to Maui - Haleakala National Park & More

From Oahu, fly over to Maui for a day to enjoy a guided sightseeing tour of Haleakala National Park, home to the dormant Haleakala volcano as well as endangered Hawaiian geese. Also keep an eye out for the rare silversword plant, which is endemic to this area and grows nowhere else in the world. Around noon, we'll stop in historic Makawao town, where you can browse unique shops and art galleries and enjoy lunch on your own.

The afternoon is spent visiting Iao Valley State Park, a 4,000 acre tropical rainforest. After a short walk past a meandering stream through a forest bursting with native Hawaiian plant life, gaze high above at the iconic Iao Needle – a natural outcropping jutting from the mountain side. The needle is covered in emerald green vegetation and towers 1,200 feet over Iao valley. Iao Valley is rich in history as a former ancient burial site for Hawaii’s royalty.
